The Work Ahead prepares for the film festival circuit.

We are proud to announce that we are in the final stages of presenting our new short film "The Work Ahead"  to the film festivals of the world. We will keep you appraised of our progress as time goes on. We are moving into a new phase with "The Work Ahead" to present William Almas video work in the best possible settings. This is a bit different than projecting onto a tree or a rock. Both of which have been our presentation in the past. The poly-tonal orchestral sound track is a different direction for phog masheeen as well. Stay tuned for more info as it becomes available.

William Almas outdid himself with this masterful re-imagining of the Hyperion Tavern video shot by Rich Polysorbate.

The great work thunders on as preparations are under way to bring our re-imagined William Gibson classic to the Sun Alley Shops Stage.

Phog Masheeen re-edits a sci-fi classic as a silent film and performs the soundtrack live. YOU can experience this at the Sun Alley Shops stage, For FREE on Friday June 17th at 8:00 PM.
There will also be a reading by Mari Collier and Zara Kand at 7:00 pm.

DiscoNoise was out of the gate with great sets from Jack Pharaoh, Big Epoch and Sumako. William Almas activated the walls with video and Maha and Company electrified the room with dance!

Phog masheeen large ensemble to close William Almas art show in Long Beach 1-25-15

At long last phog masheeen returns to Long Beach on 1-25-15, 1:00 pm, 729 Pine Ave. Long Beach CA. FREE!

This is a unique gig in that phog masheeen is augmented with the talents of Shauna Toh, Tom Neas and Jeff Bostock as well as the regular phog masheeen contributors Eric Strauss, Dr. Kaplan and Mark Soden Jr.

More people = more noise.

We are looking at an October 1, 2013 release date for this. There will be pre-release sales as well. More on that later.

"Fast Film: Here and Gone in Sixty Seconds" 

Each moment is sandwiched between the past, which is fixed in our memories in important personal and historical narratives now "gone," and the future which we can determine by our actions in the present by constructive social agency in the "here." This screening of 60 second shorts will explore the vast array of what the “here” and “gone” can connote in experimental film as it pushes the envelope of possibilities into the future.

The William Almas Video (with soundtrack by phog masheeen) "Gone" has been accepted to the “Here and Gone in 60 Seconds” show at LACDA (Los Angeles Center for Digital Art).

The Show runs from July 11-14 2013 at LACDA (Los Angeles Center for Digital Art). 102 West Fifth Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013. Opening reception Thursday July 11th, 7-9 PM in conjunction with the Down Town Art Walk.
