Praise for ShoutLand! Upcoming Black Masheeen Track!

Here is the latest email we have received regarding the ShoutLand CD.

"I just wanted to tell you how much I am Enjoying (pun) Shoutland.  It’s brilliant!  The more I listen to it, the more I can’t decide which tracks I like best.  The CD  has a nice, disturbing flow when played in numerical track order but also works well shuffled.  The entire premise of a crazed, hoe and screwdriver wielding vigilante taking on noisy, asshole neighbors is delightfully evil and fulfilling.  My favorite tracks (as of my last listening) are: Gone Up North, An Ice Chest of Donor Organs, I Want to Take a Shower (I love Lisa’s aural painting of Agatha), Buzzing Like Cicadas and of course, my all-time favorite, The Party’s Over (Now Get The Fuck Out).  Bad Plumbing is bitchin as well." JB

We are hard at work on an upcoming Black Masheeen Track titled "An Amygdala Gala."

Coming Soon!

Here's a thread on the production of ShoutLand from FaceBook. Sorry about the lack of word-wrap.

Mark A. Soden Jr. Thanks Tim! We are ramping up for the new CD ShoutLand.

Tim Mungenast I wanna know all about it!

Mark A. Soden Jr. Ok, Here's the link to the back story http://phogmasheeen.blogspot.com/p/shoutland-back-story.html

phog masheeen: ShoutLand Back Story....phogmasheeen.blogspot.com

Mark A. Soden Jr. The tracks were built from live recordings, rehearsals and studio work. The Sonorium performance is in there. I continued the the use of actors as vocalists. Focusing on character rather than singing. Thomas Dimuzio did a brilliant job of mastering. Bill Almas has produced an outstanding cover for the CD that ties in the "buzzing like cicadas" phrase and Vanessa LeFevre's cicada recordings are in there too! These recordings are how I spent my summer...

Mark A. Soden Jr. Bill did a trailer for an early mix of "I Want To Take a Shower." Lisa Black added a genius vocal to that. She developed a voice for the character Agatha that just says "homeless with a taste for drugs." That video is here http://youtu.be/7QsDQ6t9EcI

Mark A. Soden Jr. The first trailer is here: http://youtu.be/h6LCTKv3LGo Bobby Almon voiced this intro to the world of shoutland in a tone that evokes the voice of a weary crime reporter, laying out the facts.

Black Masheeen single launches!

Video coming soon, stay tuned!

Greetings all,
We have a new single out that is a collaboration with Lisa Black penning the lyric and singing the vocal and I built the tracks to support that.

The process was interesting, Lisa sang the vocal into the Laptop and emailed it to me. A bit of a turn in the process of home recording. But a good challenge.

You can check it out here.

Or click on the badge to the right.

The "early adopter" price it .45 cents. Priced like a singles RPM. Cheap enough that it will not inhibit curiosity.

Check it out!

Upcoming Single, Upcoming Gigs

We just uploaded our submission to the WORLD ELECTROACOUSTIC LISTENING ROOM PROJECT.
This is a collaboration with Leeesa Black who you may recollect voiced the character of "Cold" in the "Eternal Battle of Heat and Cold" CD.

The title of the song we submitted was "Palindrome Time" and the name of the project is Black Masheeen. "Palindrome Time" will be released as an Mp3 on CD Baby on Feb. 1 2013. The extra-special early adopter price will be $.45 per download. Yes that is 45 cents as a nod to 45 RPM singles of the past.

Bill did an amazing video for the song and it will be released as well ... shortly.

One of the highlights of the Santa Ana noise festival was the opportunity for Emmy Collins and Lisa Black to be in the same room at the same time. Emmy and Lisa lent their voices to the characters of Entropy and Cold on the phog masheeen CD "The Eternal Battle of Heat and Cold." Emmy recorded his parts in Landers California and Lisa recorded her's in Costa Mesa. They had not met till the noise fest.
