Pump is on the horizon! Two phog masheeen events!

What is Pump you ask, a couple of weeks of sonic myrth and merriment all around downtown Long Beach! The particulars are included below.
Two phog masheeen events are included in the greater Pump event. You can see us Saturday 10-7-17 at the Packard Building from 5PM to 10PM. William Almas will be bringing the Retina Burning Visuals. We are doing a 20 minute set every hour. The venue will be packed (?) with performers in all the different rooms. It should be a really fun night!

The other phog masheeen event will be held at the east village arts park http://www.longbeach.gov/park/park-and-facilities/directory/east-village-arts-park/
The date is 10-15-17 from 6:30 to 9:00 pm. This event with feature Circuit Benders with Beats. We seen this sort of thing in Long Beach before with Disco Noise and Club Bitmap. For this event we are returning to Club Bitmap! William Almas will be returning with his visual overdrive projections to round out this elegant production!

PUMP 2017: Multi-Sensory Arts Festival Comes to Long Beach This October

Long Beach, CA—FLOOD, the artist group that brought SOUNDWALK to Long Beach for 10 years and recently inaugurated “soundpedro” at Angels Gate Cultural Center in San Pedro, is pleased to announce PUMP (Public Urban Multi-Sensory Presentations). This arts festival, October 7–21, will highlight works by over 50 emerging and mid-career artists from throughout Southern California. Participants will not only see art, but they may hear, feel, smell and taste it as well. Works will be exhibited in spaces that range from storefront windows and a small park, to a former showroom for Packard automobiles that was built in 1926 and the massive interiors of what used to be an ice storage warehouse near the Port of Long Beach. All exhibitions and events related to PUMP are free and open to the public. Parking fees may apply for some locations. Phog Masheeen re-edits a sci-fi classic as a silent film and performs the soundtrack live. YOU can experience this at the Sun Alley Shops stage, For FREE on Friday June 17th at 8:00 PM.
There will also be a reading by Mari Collier and Zara Kand at 7:00 pm.

"Fast Film: Here and Gone in Sixty Seconds" 

Each moment is sandwiched between the past, which is fixed in our memories in important personal and historical narratives now "gone," and the future which we can determine by our actions in the present by constructive social agency in the "here." This screening of 60 second shorts will explore the vast array of what the “here” and “gone” can connote in experimental film as it pushes the envelope of possibilities into the future.

Landfill 5 tonight at Max Steiners, Long Beach, CA

Tonight the phog masheeen side project the landfill 5 will be presenting Duke Ellington songs and two chord guitar jams at Max Steiners in Long Beach.

Some say that jazz is funner to play than it is to hear. This should be fun on all levels! If you're in Long Beach check it out.
